Angela's Story

Before her surgery, Angela struggled to walk, stand, or play with other children.

When Angela met Dr. Peter and LuLu Daly, the founders of One World Surgery, at Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos (NPH) in Honduras, they understood the complex care she needed. They brought her to the US to perform the surgery and help her recover over the course of a year. NPH provides a loving home and community for vulnerable children in Latin America, and although Angela couldn’t be formally adopted, the Dalys soon became her family. When they came back to Honduras, Angela said something to LuLu that changed their lives forever:

“Mommy, please stay with me.”

One World Surgery began with one life, one patient, one family. Angela’s story ignited their mission to transform lives.

At One World Surgery, we believe everyone has a right to care, regardless of where they were born.

Today, Angela follows in Dr. Daly’s footsteps as a surgical technician, and shares her passion and personal experience with our patients.

“I think with all the things I’ve been through, it makes me want to help other people. One day I was talking with a patient and said, “I had the same surgery as you.” He said, “You were so brave.” And I told him, “You can be brave, too.””

Your support makes a world of difference to our patients in Honduras and the Dominican Republic. Changing one life can change the world. Make a gift today to be a part of that change.
