Welcoming Our First Chief Operating Officer, Christina Wagener

We are thrilled to share a monumental milestone in our organization’s 20-year journey. We welcome Dr. Christina Wagener, DNP, MBA, APRN, NPC, as our first Chief Operating Officer. This significant step marks a new era in our continuous commitment to clinical excellence and sustainable growth to best serve our patients.  

Dr. Christina Wagener brings a wealth of experience and passion to our mission. She is a seasoned Nurse Practitioner with a robust business acumen, having most recently served as the Vice President of Clinical Operations and System Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) at Sinai Health System. Christina’s extensive background in clinical operations and her dedication to patient-centered care make her the perfect fit for this pivotal role. 

As our new COO, Christina will oversee all clinical operations, medical mission trips, and our comprehensive clinical services, including surgery, primary care, and dental care at both our Honduras and Dominican Republic sites. Her focus will be on creating efficiencies, enhancing opportunities, and ensuring our patients remain at the heart of everything we do. 

Christina’s arrival signifies our unwavering commitment to best clinical practices and sustainable growth. We are confident that her leadership will strengthen our operations and amplify our impact on the communities we serve. Christina will be based in Chicago and travel frequently to Honduras and Dominican Republic to work closely with our talented teammates and volunteers. 

On a personal note, Christina is an adventurous and compassionate individual. She is happily married, a cat lover, and a roller derby enthusiast. We are excited to have her bring this same energy and dedication to One World Surgery. To kick off her journey with us, Christina is spending her first week visiting our site in Honduras, where she will meet our incredible team and immerse herself in our mission.
