Meet Dr. Stephanie Wagner
She is only the eighth woman to become a board-certified orthopedic surgeon in Honduras. The eighth. In an entire country.
And for years, even the most gifted surgeons like her couldn’t offer their patients the complex procedures they needed most — not for lack of skill, but for lack of access to the specialized training that could make it possible. That changed when One World Surgery created the only orthopedic fellowship of its kind in Honduras. Dr. Stephanie Wagner joined the program’s third cohort and trained at the highest level without ever leaving the people who needed her most.
After performing surgeries that her patients once believed were impossible, Dr. Wagner simply reflected:
“It makes you realize how lucky we are to have One World Surgery.”
