Maria’s Journey to a Brighter Future

Meet Maria, a vibrant 6-year-old girl. Her mother is a homemaker, while her father works as a “motorista,” akin to a motorcycle taxi driver. Maria Jose’s parents describe her as a cheerful girl who loves attending school and learning.

One day, Maria started to experience vision problems while at school. Realizing that she couldn’t see objects from a distance, her parents sought medical help. Another clinic initially provided her with glasses, but her condition continued to deteriorate. Concerned about their daughter’s eyesight, they sought out a second opinion. The family learned about One World Surgery through the recommendation of close family members who had experienced the organization’s compassionate care firsthand. Following a thorough evaluation, it was decided that cataract surgery was the best course of action.

Following the cataract surgery, Maria can now see with clarity and no longer faces difficulties in school. Her mother attests to the remarkable improvement in her daughter’s vision, crediting OWS for the positive change.

“I appreciated how everyone is kind, knowledgeable, and loving at OWS. We feel very cared for,” said Maria’s mother.
